Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) leaf
50 ml Tincture of Organic 1:5 Liquid extract
contains NLT 0.3 mg /ml of parthenolide

- Anthelmintic – substance that kills or assists in the expulsion of intestinal worms
Indications /Prescribing
Prophylaxis and treatment of migraine headaches and associated symptoms
Tension headaches
Possible benefit in inflammatory arthritis such as rheumatoid arthritis
Bitter tonic to increase appetite ,improve digestion and promote digestive secretions
Contraindications:
Individuals with known hypersensitivity to feverfew ,parthenolide or other members of the compositae family should not take feverfew internally .

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation :
Doses during pregnancy should be kept to a minimum (no more than 1.5 ml of 1:5 tincture /day). No adverse effects expected during lactation as long as the recommended dosage levels are observed.
Side effects :
Allergic contact dermatitis has been noted in many cases after contact with fresh feverfew leaves .The side effects were considered mild and included mouth ulcers , sore tongue, abdominal pain, indigestion , unpleasant taste ,tingling sensation ,urinary problems ,headache ,swollen lips or mouth and diarrhea.
Dosage :
1 to 3 ml of 1:5 tincture liquid extract daily
7 to 20 ml 1:5 liquid extract weekly
